The University of Kota, Kota (Rajasthan) has officially released Notification No. 01/2026 dated 11 June 2026 for the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026. This exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities across Rajasthan. The SET-2026 is being organized under the authority of the University of Kota as the nodal conducting body for the state. 

Clearing the Rajasthan SET is a mandatory eligibility qualification for candidates who wish to be recruited as Assistant Professors or Lecturers in Rajasthan state colleges, universities, and government-aided institutions. The SET certificate, once awarded, is valid permanently and is recognized specifically for Rajasthan state. Candidates from other states who do not find their subjects in the SET list, or who wish to apply at a national level, are advised to appear in UGC NET or UGC-CSIR NET examinations held twice annually. 

The examination is conducted across 35 subjects covering Arts, Humanities, Commerce, Sciences, Law, Education, Languages, and other disciplines. All subject papers are scheduled on the same date and time, making it a single-day comprehensive examination. The test is structured in two papers — Paper I assessing teaching and research aptitude, and Paper II testing in-depth subject knowledge. There is no negative marking, making it a fair and accessible test for all aspirants.
